New Talents

This week has brought on a few new "talents". Rorek now enjoys making noises with his lips which causes a lot of spit to come out(zerbers), he enjoys sucking on both of his fists, likds holding and sucking on his blanket and toy duck, has found his feet, is finally big enough for his exersaucer, and prefers to sit up and stand up (with assistance).

He's about 16lbs now (clothed). It's crazy how quickly babies develop and change.

Bucky Covington

Rorek attended his first concert tonite. The USO put on a free Bucky Covington concert, here on base, so Rorek and I walked over and watched for a bit. He was on American Idol and came in 8th. He then went on to have such hits as A Different World (that song about how things were different when we were young -- drank from garden hoses, cribs covered in lead-base paint, every Sunday all of the stores were closed, etc.), It's Good to Be Us, and I'll Walk.

It was definately an eye opener for Rorek. He was silent, wide eyed, and very focused :). It was loud with flashy lights. After about a hour, Rorek's eyes glazed over and he started to fall asleep. That was my cue to take him home to feed him and put him to bed. I suppose it was a tad bit too much stimulation for a 4 month old, but it did prevent a regular fussy evening.

It was a good concert. I wish more people would have attended. It was a small deal, so Bucky came off the stage and introduced himself to my friend's 3yo and 1yo. Their mom had made them Bucky tshirts (he autographed them).

I could watch this over and over and over again :). FINALLY, we caught him making some noise. He usually notices the camera and stops whatever he is doing. But Andrew was able to distract him while I filmed.
